“Karta” magazine was launched in 1982

“Karta” was created as an independent publication in January 1982 in Warsaw during the first weeks of Martial Law in Poland. After a few months it developed from a one-page bulletin into an independent publication which presented attitudes of people searching for freedom in the world of dictators’ regimes. 19 “small” and 7 “large” issues had been published in the underground.
